Mahesh Gopalan (Founder)
Mahesh is a seasoned IT executive with 16+ years of experience overseeing Enterprise Solutions for Fortune 500 companies. He has vast experience across POS, OMS, WMS, Supply Chain, Associate Mobile application, analytics domains. Prior to forming Xformics, he held the position of Director of Omni Channel Strategy and Architecture at Staples where he was responsible for leading Omni vision working closely with the CIO. His responsibilities encompassed breaking the traditional silos within the organization, promoting cross business unit co-operation and innovation, integration between multiple systems, cross visibility of portfolios and key initiatives and leading enterprise architecture. He oversaw the Omni transformation for Staples promoting co-operation between Business, IT and CMO office driving efficiency of operations and reduced cost of ownership.
In his prior stint with IBM, he led program management and architecture for 20+ large scale implementations of Order Management System (OMS) and Warehouse Management System (WMS). As the Chief Architect for IBM’s Sterling OMS and WMS practices, he interacted with Product Management and Engineering groups driving product innovation and direction based on customer input. He has experience managing programs of up to 300 people and $100MM in budget. In addition, he served as a member of IBM Americas Thought Leader Certification Board that is responsible for identifying and promoting leadership talent within IBM and is an IBM ThoughtLeader and Open Group Distinguished Architect.
Balaji Balaraman (Advisor)
Balaji is a Vice President and Global Technology Head of Big Data Labs, API Engineering and e-Commerce Engineering at American Express. In this role, Balaji is responsible for leading the company’s technology strategy and development of Enterprise Fast Data Platform, Machine Learning Platform and e-Commerce solutions (India Market). These platforms and solutions are powering growth, competitive differentiation and innovative line of products/services for the enterprise.
Most recently, Balaji led the launch of Enterprise Big Data Warehouse to power next generation Information Management and Data Analytics Capabilities @ American Express. Currently Balaji is working on implementing the Fast Data Platform (Real-time Analytics) and Machine Learning Platform for American Express. He relocated back to Bangalore in July 2012 to lead a team of highly talented engineers and managers to establish Big Data Labs in close partnership with Risk and Information Management Data Sciences team.
